These are the last days in Sydney. Here we made our final stand in what we have grown to love and call home whenever we're vacationing in the Land Down Under. We made the most of our last two days by exploring our favorite city by means of the Sydney Explorer Bus. It's a great way to see the city in a short two hours - simply relax, lay back, and watch the city of Sydney come alive right in front of your eyes.
We also visited the Taronga Zoo. It's interesting how a visit to the zoo can change when you see and experience it from the perspective of your child. Ian just loved the zoo. He loved everything about it from animals playing in their habitats to the petting zoo of what few animals they had. It just seemed that Ian couldn't get enough of it. It was an enjoyable experience for both Rachel and Juan to be at the zoo, but this time with Ian.
Our last evening in Sydney was traditional in every way. In the past, we have had our final dinner at our favorite restaurant “Wolfies” along the harbor which overlooks the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House. This time was somewhat different, we saw the Rhapsody of the Seas getting underway for her next cruising adventure and waved goodbye to the ship we had come to love and her new passengers. It was our first cruise and we understand the thrill that captivates those fond of traveling and seeing the world. It was sad to see the Rhapsody of the Seas disappear over the city horizon. It made our final dinner in Sydney all the more memorable as a reminder as to why we love this great city so much!!!
So for all those who have followed our cruising adventure, here is where we say thank you!!! As we disembark from this adventure and embark on our next, we encourage you to cruise, if you haven't, and enjoy the ambience of the sea! If you have sailed before, look to the future as to where your sails will take you. For us, we have set our compass to a heading of Bermuda and the Southern Caribbean in the near distant future. As we say in the navy to farewell those fellow shipmates, "Fair Winds and Following Seas"!!!
