It was the middle of April and Spring Break for U.S. Armed Forces here in Yongsan. So we took advantage of an opportunity to fly on a C-130 to Korea's Hawaiian Island - Jeju - a trip sponsored by the Republic of Korea (ROK) Army. It was a great opportunity to go on vacation for a small fee with flight on a military prop plane like a C-130. Yes, it was a bumpy ride, but it was rather... awesome to say the least!
Our trip to Jeju was a four day, 3 night trip. During our stay in Jeju, we had four days worth of adventure, sightseeing, and touring with fellow service-members and their families. Our evening stays were in a four-star hotel sponsored by the ROK Ministry of Defense (MND). Unlike popular belief it wasn't really all that bad; the food for breakfast and dinner was good and we really couldn't complain.
As for Ian, he did very well. Considering that we were up by 0630 each morning, Ian did not complain too much, but was rather excited to get going and looked forward to each day's adventures. It was tough coming back after spending four days relaxing and running around Jeju, but it was time to return to reality and get back to our home away from home.
