Entry into Spring!!

Preparing for Bedtime

Showing off my new shoes. Gotta love Pedipeds.
The past two weeks have been a blur. Juan was gone for work for the annual exercise with his Korean counterparts. He had a brief break last Friday and left again on Sunday to return on Thursday. Ian and I enjoyed our time together and worked on him sleeping without a swaddle. So far we are having success and he doesn't seem to miss it at all but prefers his tummy over his back and side. The other day we found him sleeping on his side. This occurred after he turned over and back for the first time. Ian is anxiously trying to crawl as he bangs his right foot on the ground, instead of moving forward he goes in a circle. I have a feeling my days of placing him on the playmat and staying there are numbered.
This past week we said goodbye to our friends the Finisons. It was a quick departure from Seoul due to their son Luke's diagnosis with a golf ball sized brain tumor. Right now they are in San Diego determining his next course of treatment. We will miss seeing Shane, Mary, Luke, and Michaela on a daily basis. Luke and Michaela have a bond with Ian and everytime I saw them, they would ask "Where's Ian?" Michaela loved to smother him with hugs and kisses and Luke would sit and play with him for hours. We will continue to keep them in our prayers and rejoice in knowing that God is in control.
Yesterday, we participated in the National Nutrition Month 5k on base. The weather was perfect and the race was a lot of fun doing it with Juan and Ian. I completed my first 5k in Philadelphia at the American Dietetic Association and forgot how much fun they can be. We are doing another one in two weeks on April 11, all the races are free and participants receive T-shirts.
