We begin this trip on a warm, summer Australian day - 21 DEC 2009. As we approached Sydney's Circular Quay you could see our ship, our home for the next 17 days, pierside with the Sydney Harbor Bridge in the background. Rachel and I could not be more excited to embark not just on this ship, but on this cruise experience - our first cruise from a city that we have grown to love south of the equator thanks to the navy.
We boarded Rhapsody of the Seas early in the afternoon and with one "prolonged blast" from the ship's whistle we were "underway" and "making way". Below, we've provided some pictures that are just a taste to what our first day was like.

Rhapsody of the Sea is measured at just under 1000 ft long; it holds 11 decks, two main dining rooms, two pools, a two-deck theater, four lounges for music, a casino, and a centrum that extends vertically through seven decks are just a few of the amentities onboard.

And so ends our first day at sea... wow, what a sunset to behold... Praise the Lord!!!
