Trip Across the USA Continued...

It's always hard to say good-bye to the places you love, especially when it's dominated by family, friends, beaches, great weather, and of course, the Pacific Coast!!!! You may have heard it said, that all good things come to an end; however, rather than saying good-bye, we packed up our car and said, "See you later," to the West Coast. With the Pacific Ocean getting smaller in our rear view mirror, we began our journey east to our next duty station assignment awaiting us in Dahlgren, VA.

We made our way East along the I-10 by passing through desert landscape of Arizona and New Mexico. We made a lunch time stop in Yuma, AZ visiting our friends, Tom, Amie, and Katie and then proceeded onto Pheonix, AZ to stay at a 5-star Golf Resort compliments of our Time Share; it was too bad we could stay for longer than one night. We then traveled into Texas and stayed in Van Horn and Houston where we visited with Juan's aunt. Many years had passed since Juan last seen his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins from his dad's side. Therefore, this occasion was filled with the pleasantries of catching up and re-establishing family connections.

Leaving TX, we continued pushing East passing through Louisiana and visited friends in Gulf Port, Mississippi as well as making a drive through past Elvis Presley's home "Graceland" in Memphis on our way to stay with our friends, the Sorce Family.
