Our Weekend on the Move!

Since our last post life has been busy. Juan graduated on the 20th of June and the next day flew out to Seoul, South Korea for a 5 day turnover. While he was away I spent time in the Newport area visiting with friends and getting the last details of our move taken care of. Right now I am still waiting for my passport and visa with a deadline of the 15 of July because we fly out on the 16th at 6am for Seoul.

Juan arrived back from Seoul on the 27th at 2am after 1 delayed flight at LAX and 2 delayed in Atlanta. By the time I picked him up he had been traveling over 24 hours and was beat. Friday we departed RI at 930 to head to the Washington DC area. We arrived safely at our friend Heather and Jack's around 730pm after a long day of driving, toll road delays, and torrential down pours in Maryland. We were so thankful to have a great place to stay and a comfy bed to sleep in. Juan wanted to take their guest bed with us to Dahlgren, VA.

Jack and Heather also passed along great news to us that we were unaware of. They were so funny, asking Juan if they had anything to congratulate him about? We said we are having a baby and he graduated with in the top 20% of his class at the Naval War College. Jack and Heather meant something completely different, Juan has been selected for XO in in the Surface Warfare Officer Speciality Career Path for Missile Defense. It was such a great suprise and unexpected, Juan was told it was a year away before his look. So in celebration we went out for Mexican and Juan bought drinks for everyone (I couldn't wait to have one my favorite drinks, Horchata).

We had a great weekend of visiting friends in the WA DC area but it went so fast. It seems like there is never enough time to visit everyone when time is limited.

Last night we arrived in Dahlgren, VA. Juan is here attending a two week course and getting a bit of down time before heading to Seattle on the 12 of July. I am taking time to rest before a long but fun road trip with my mom starting on July 6th to Seattle.
