5 weeks and counting

HI Everyone
Ian is 5 weeks old now and growing like a weed. It is fun to watch how he has changed in
such a short period of time. Right now he is napping in his crib swaddled like a little burrito.
We have found this is one of the keys to a good night sleep not only for us but for him.
This past weekend Juan had 4 days off due to Columbus Day. In Korea they give the
servicemember Monday off and Tuesday is a training day aka another day off. We were definately not complaining and glad to have the time together as a family. The mission this weekend was to get Ian's SOFA/Visa stamp. On Monday we ventured out into Seoul via the
subway (Juan and Ian's first trip on the local train) to the Immigration office. We walked
in and walked out. The place was jam packed with people waiting for passports, visas, etc. So we decided to turn around and try for Osan the next day. We knew the wait would be for hours for a few stamps in the passports. So Tuesday, we ventured out to Osan AirForce Base for the the stamps. We were done in about 30 minutes maybe less. So now Ian is legally in the country. Yeah!
Now onto planning our first family trip. Right now we are leaning toward a trip in March 09, to
Bejing, Xian, and Shanghi for 8 days. Ian is doing well with getting out of the house. Life has been a bit easier now that we carry a bottle full of "mom's liquid gold" when we are out and about.
Tomorrow, Rachel and Ian are joining the Armed Forces Spouses Group Hiking Club for a trip
to the local zoo. The hike is stroller friendly but Rachel is taking the Ergo carrier along just in case it is not so stroller friendly like the last one.
This coming weekend Ian is going to have his first portraits done, so be on the lookout out
for the results.
